Breakthrough and Success at Sanremo

In 1967, Zanicchi's fortunes changed when she won the Sanremo Music Festival with her duet "Non pensare a me" with Claudio Villa. This victory launched her into the limelight, and she went on to win the festival two more times, in 1969 with "Zingara" (with Bobby Solo) and in 1974 with "Ciao cara come stai" (solo).

Eurovision and International Popularity

Zanicchi represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1969, placing 13th with the song "Due grosse lacrime bianche." Despite not winning, her performance gained her international recognition.
